#WHY ISNT BIG BODY BES ON THE ACTION BRONSON SHOW FULL#
As with any outrageous rapper full of personality, Action Bronson is very much a love hate type of rapper. How could I not post about my favorite wax smoking, gourmet cooking, in your face rapper’s recent mixtape. There’s something so light and dreamy in this layered electronic track and if you’re still looking for that perfect summer song to put on heavy rotation and that will remind you of Summer 2014 for years to come, give this song a listen! It blends Slow Magic’s signature glitch style electronic sound with pop sensibilities that make “Girls” a versatile track, perfect for a jog in the sun, a day at the beach, or a low-key party. “Girls”, which was released just about yesterday (available to stream on Soundcloud – linked below – and iTunes), is the perfect electronic track for Summer 2014. He delivers musical dreams that can carry you off to wherever you want to go – whether its a dance floor, a beach, or a sunny, flowery meadow. He describes his music as “music by your imaginary friend”, and after listening to a few tracks, you can really believe it. I thought I’d break my hiatus with this sparkly new song by the recently signed (to Downtown Records) Slow Magic. Who is Slow Magic, you ask? Well, honestly, nobody really knows.

Of course, the similarities end with the colorfulness and quirkiness of the visuals of the video.Īfter my half year long hiatus, I’m back! My goal for this summer is to post a much as possible, and get into a good blogging/reviewing groove so that hopefully I’ll be able to continue once the school year starts. It actually sort of reminds me of a type of video that a certain Japanese pop sensation might put out ( きゃりーぴゃむぴゃむ). Water Fountain in particular brilliantly combines a worldly beat, catchy sing-a-long chorus with some playful yelping, deep, political lyrics, and complex layering that really captures the immense creativity and thoughtfulness that can be found throughout the album that makes it so unique and yet appealing to a larger than niche audience.Īlso, the video is appropriately strange and quirky. The whole east coast, New England, Liberal Arts school world is a realm totally familiar to me (since I myself am currently attending a New England LAC), and the gap between that world and the music Merrill Garbus creates makes it even more fun to listen to this album drenched in African and world-music beats and influences. It’s especially strange hearing such foreign and non-Western-worldly musical influences from someone from New York, but raised in New Canaan CT, and who went to Smith College in MA. This album is straight up wacky and weird, while being completely accessible, fun, and perfect for summer. Today’s song of the day is tUnE-yArDs’ cool, quirky and just plain awesome Water Fountain from their latest album Nikki Nack.
